What a beautiful day to have another very busy meeting! I offered to do the write up for Sarah this month but it will not be a great as hers. I really enjoyed watching all the courses and taking notes. I hope you enjoy remembering the day too.

There were 11 stakes with a total of 62 dogs, as well as lots of newcomers trialling in between rounds. Congratulations to the SIXTEEN that cleared today!

We were back at the lovely ground in Frampton, however this time the grass was a little longer which created a challenge for the dogs as well as the field team.

The weather was glorious for most of the day with just a few passing clouds and a brief spitting of rain.

The first round was a course length of 600 yards and used the field from edge to edge in a wonderful series of turns..

The second round was another fantastic 600 yards of different turn directions with a move of the shy to a more central location. The long grass proved a real challenge for many of the runs, with dogs having to really work hard to keep sight of the lure. Many of the runs in this round were extremely well matched and very close to call.

The final round was a little shorter and provided a switchback corner that was a joy to watch very agile dogs turn round!

The 4 open stakes starting with The Frampton Open stakes saw 3 dogs making their SWC debut. Dapperdiva Double Whammy had a lovely go bye at the end of the course as did Keep a Knocking of Ohaka. Ardencote What a Rogue had a flying start and then sadly pulled up with an injury and waited patiently in middle of the field for someone to come to his aid.

This stake saw the battle between Laguna Lockets Loved One and Loroli Lifes a Rollercoaster at Derohan with the former taking the win after a well matched run.

The final round was a little shorter and provided a switchback corner that was a joy to watch very agile dogs turn round!

Next was the Claypits stakes with some very close runs. The final saw Sandspring Sea Mistress and Ryemeadows Mabel overtaking each other and remaining neck and neck for much of the course with Mabel ending victorious.

The Eastington Open Stakes saw Bedazzle Navy Boy go a little off piste in the second round to get in front of the lure and then fly round the rest of the course.

The final between Denimblue Willdo and Midnight Phantom Petunia started with both flying out of slips and heading off well matched, they then lost sight of the lure with Denimblue finding it again and completing the course to take the win.

Next was the Hardwicke Open Stakes with Harerunner Heartfelt and Royaltudor Storm Diana having an amazing final that saw Storm Diana run two incredible go byes and both dogs tumbling into the lure. Royaltudor Storm Diana was announced the winner.

We had 7 veterans competing today with Rathglass Mood Indigo nearly catching the lure winning the Haresfield Beacon stakes and Laguna Lawns Lupin taking runner up. Next was the Standish Wood Veterans Stakes which saw Winterfellin Gotta Dash avec Elstoto and Laguna Lawn Le Lundi face off in the final. With the former still running with fantastic follow and stamina at 9 years old winning the stake.

There were 3 stakes for dogs of 18.5 to 20 inches starting with the Arlingham Stakes. This saw the debut of Winterfellin What the Heck in an amazing run against Florancy Dark and Stormy. It was my favourite run of the first round with both boys overtaking and pushing each other all the way. Winterfellin What the Heck going through to the final after that debut and just losing out to Laguna Lunas Link.

The Brookthorpe Stakes had some very well matched courses including housemates Silverhare Festive Snowelf and Harerunner Hasta La Vista meeting in the second round and giving each other no graces. First Hasta la Vista had the lead then Festive Snowelf but in the end the younger won sending Harerunner Hasta la Vista onto another final. Winterfellin Tallenger took on the challenge and didn’t make it an easy one. However Harerunner Hasta La Vista came out victorious with another impressive win of the season.

The Ruscombe Stakes saw another debut by Winterfellin Dash at Dawn who flew out at the start and just lost some steam towards the end. An incredible first outing though. The second round showed incredible agility by the pairings and we had one heck of a final between Ryemeadows Midnight Sun and Phareal no Questions Asked at Runphar. The latter taking a big tumble on the 3rd corner and then both losing sight of the lure caused a restart. Phareal No Questions Asked at Runphar tumbled in exactly the same place but they kept sight of the lure this time and completed a fantastic course with both overtaking each other. Keeping true to form Phareal No Questions Asked at Runphar bundled into the lure at the end and took the win.

The two bitches stakes saw another debut on the field by Crosscop she’s a lady of Ardencote making it to the second round in the Gossington Stakes.

We also saw litter sisters Coppermow Moonstone and Coppermow Skadi face off with Moonstone taking a huge tumble and flying across the field to catch up. Coppermow Skadi nabbed the win and headed to the final against Gemstone Luna Saphire of Runphar who really showed her maturity today. In a repeat of Lunas fathers final previous they lost sight of the lure in the same place and a restart was called. Gemstone Luna showed her speed and whilst Coppermow Skadi kept a close follow it wasn’t enough to take the win.

The final stake of the day was The Breadstone stakes which saw 2 of the top scoring bitches get knocked out in the first round. Coppermow Velar lost sight of the lure and really pushed to get back flying across the field. Veloxcanis Solis Venatrix made a bit of her own course and lost the lead after the first few corners to Nita Pilgramsway. The final between Silverhare Fortis Secret and Nita Pilgramsway was a perfect end to the day. They were well matched and had some fantastic cornering. Nita had a lovely go bye and finished the course strong taking the win.
